Well with GM writing the checks Saab I would assume had to go along what ever the honchos at GM came up with - good bad or ugly, and in the final reckoning it was bad for Saab.

Now I once was hired at Compaq as a high level program mgr to enact a strategy to replace crappy SUN storage on SUN servers with Compaq Storageworks - which I had expertise. However didn't get a written commitment about approved funds, so was told I had to go to Houston to convince the honchos and definately identify that what I was hired to do would increase the sales of Compaq servers by replacing SUN - that's all these idiots cared about. I said nice knowing you don't feel like goin to Houston in July, here's my bonus check and 2 weeks notice.
Funny thing is that 2 month stint qualified me for a pension from HP so a happy ending for me.
