back to a focus on safety, wagons, etc... boxy but good... eeuro had a nice blog entry on this a few weeks back. Personally I think that is a smart move. The "Naughty Volvos" ad campaign was as stupid as they come (imho)... maybe even worse than "born from jets". Anyway, I don't see a problem with them working off of 1 platform (and turbo 4's)... s60/v50/xc60/v70 is their bread and butter, and all are easily within a size range that fits 1 platform. If everyone else gets out of the wagon segment (as seems to be the trend), imho, the only one remaining will get that market. The choices for those of us with families who don't want a minivan or SUV are somewhat reduced these days (and going forward)... volvo would be high on my list sans-SAAB...
