I think 1995 was the last year of the traditional iron block with the end of the 940 model (US spec).
Most 960 had enjoyed an all aluminum engines since 1992.

So I'm not quite sure what iron block you refer to ending now. Maybe Europe or Asia still have some economy Volvo's using that old engine???
