I live in Sacramento, so it definitely dips below freezing, but is never subzero or snowy. Range is affected by the cold - using the heater is a massive drain on the battery. I don't think human-livable temperatures have a substantial effect on the motor's consumption or battery's discharge rate, though. A few miles here or there, but nothing compared to the heater - you can see its impact as you drive.
Another thing worth mentioning is that the car has an iPhone and Android app. We use the iOS version, my parents the Android. The app can give you useful information amount the car - such as battery state and where it physically is (AWESOME for parking) - and can also cause the car to do things, such as charge, honk the horn, or turn on the climate control. When it's cold, we turn the heater on while the car is still plugged into the wall (to recover the charge) to get he cabin warm. The car is extremely well insulated, so once it's warm inside it tends to stay warm. After being heated up inside, the seat heaters are usually more than adequate to keep occupants warm. That helps reduce the impact of cold temps on range.
We're told that running the AC has a minimal impact on range... the heater takes like 10x the power the AC does. That'll be important in the upcoming months. Sacramento may not get really cold, but it does get really hot. Last summer there were weeks where temps barely dropped below 80 degrees. Getting into a hot car at 8am is no fun, either. We'll see how that goes.
