I just had a conversation about reliability with the VW's with someone yesterday. That person does not like them. Not sure I'm concerned if I only plan to lease it.

I went and drove one last night, and I think it fits the bill of being toss-able with enough power to enjoy it. Feels roomy enough and looks pretty good.
The pricing they gave me was a bit wonky compared to what I've seen at other dealers online, and compared to other similarly priced cars. I don't really hold any allegiance to the local dealer, so I'll go where ever I get the best price.

For my Saab, I do really love this car, but its simply cost me too much money. Most recently had to put in a new engine due to a dead cyl. Mechanic was baffled (not as much as I was), but most likely a defect that should have been caught in the early days of the car, but was not fixed properly. Its fixed now, and drives great, but just have too much money into the car.
Couldn't scrap the car as I owe money on it and didn't want to take the loss. Also, couldn't really afford the new engine, so I'm cashing out now.

I never planned on driving it into the ground, so now seems like a good time to sell while its still desirable and worth some money.

I'm looking into used cars too, but after being burned on this one, I think I need a few years of worry free driving before I take on another risk.
