The cheapest way out would be a not obvious kill switch.
You could wire the ignition in one of the Saab rear window switched (they say on/off).
I had a car where I used a switch and to actually start the car, you hit the rear defroster. It doesn't stay engaged.
The tumbler was frozen so it was just to move the car around.
The next step up is a paging alarm, that way you'd at least know when the car is being messed with rather than "after the fact".
