Take apart a spare (or just use a "Known-bad" module!) and disconnect an important bit or two, put it back together, and swap with your real one when leaving it parked.

I can imagine a thief noticing an empty fuse or socket, but are they going to diagnose a no-start condition?

If they can, I think they'd be just as capable of bringing an ECU with them "next time"...

Maybe you could put a boot on it? ;)
