I read up on Genuine Saab's ETS intercooler. Here's the site I got the info from, not from Genuinesaab... http://www.extremeintercoolers.com/saab_95_intercooler_upgrade.html
It flows 1080CFM I believe it said, so just find out what CFM you need and you're all set. Or find out what the stock intercooler flows and go from there. Somewhere on the internet you can find out what the stock intercooler on the 9-5 models flow in CFM. BUT, unless you're adding a reflashed ECU and other go-fast parts and maybe a larger turbo, you may be just fine with the stock intercooler where it is. The rest of the specs on the ETS intercooler look fine, nice that it can handle 700 horsepower, but who gets to that kind of power on these cars? I think you'd be ok with the stock intercooler if the rest of your car is stock, or the ETS intercooler would help bring temps down alittle more if you have $900 to spend on the parts and labour. Switching to higher octane gas would also help, or adding an H20 mister to your existing intercooler would also help for less money. Plus the T-7 computers on 9-5 models adapt better to atmospheric heat than the T-5 and hugely better than the old jetronic LH2.4 on my classic 900T. I have a 2001 9-5 Aero, but leave it bone stock due this model's self-destructing engine potential. I learned what I know from my 1993 classic 900T, where we searched for or made our own FMIC and cut bumpers and so forth to set them correctly infront and below the other needed heat sinks like evap and radiator. I forget how I came up with the proper CFM for the intercooler on my classic 900T. I might have used alittle comparisons between what a stock 9000 Aero flowed and used that as my starting point. I remember getting less than 1% pressure drop and lots of flow keeping the air moving. Good Luck!
