"i respect you liking 900s but you cant get more power out of tuned 900s
than "stock" 900t. just get a turbo saab, its much easier to tune it up. " -Raul
Raul keeps saying that a modified 900S cant meet or exceed a stock 900T in horsepower. After a little research, I have proved him wrong.
A stock 900S has 128 horses @6000RPM. I've been told a tech at Swedish Dynamics tuned his 900S to pull out 200 - 250 from the naturally aspirated engine. The 1990 SPG has 175 horses @5500RPM. And the SPG even has more ponies that a stock Turbo! 250 - 175. Do the math.
With some basic engine performance upgrades, a 900S will blow the doors off a stock 900T. Intake, Exhaust, Ignition, Cylinder work, Tuning.
Sure the phrase, "JUST BUY A TURBO" which is used way too much, is easy to say. Provide the cash for a 900S owner to go buy a turbo, then we'll see. I surely don't have an extra $5 grand laying around to drop everything and buy a new car. I'm sure some of us 900S owners still wouldn't turn our cars over. I'd like a turbo, don't get me wrong ( :
Simply stating the facts, do the research
