I purchased my '69 Sonett V4 (chassis #97001741)from my parents in 1983. My parents were the 2nd owners of the Sonett. It was originally purchased in Portland or Seattle - I just can't remember which. The engine & trans were in the garage, and the car was in the back yard! I spent almost a year rebuilding the Sonett - engine, trans, paint, interior, conversion to 4-bolt hubs. I drove the Sonett full time for several years, and then kept it as a 2nd car. I eventually sold the Sonett back to my parents, and they had it until my dad died in 1997. No one had room at the time to take the Sonett, so we gave it to a local "Saab Nut". I bumped into him last year at racing school, and he mentioned the Sonett's trans had broken, and he did not have the money to fix it. One thing led to another, and I purchased the Sonett back from him for a minimal amount. I've spent the last several months going through the Sonett, and acquired a '68 parts Sonett along the way, along with some "Carroll Shelby" rims, and a new rear window.
