Now that we know who you are, and that you were having a little fun, maybe you can answer some questions for us. You certainly raised suspicions among many of us regarding your Sonett, as there were some holes in your story. ;-)

Anyway, my biggest question is in regards to the 25K you say you spent restoring this Sonett. Did you really spend this much and did you do a bare chassis restoration? Do you have pictures? It seems to me that the previous owner of your Sonett already did some of the work that you say you did.

For example, he:

Reworked all brakes, rear and front. New shoes and wheel cylinders rear, new seals and pads front, new hose front and rear, new brake rotors. Reworked brake master cylinder, clutch master and slave cylinder. Installed correct type hose from reservoirs to brake/clutch master cylinder

Installed engine bay and dash wiring harness
Installed good running ’73 motor. According to previous owner, the heads had been reworked and hardened seats installed. Have not checked this out.

Scraped, wire-brushed and painted all frame areas where surface rust showed with rust preventive paint. No rust through anywhere other than listed below. Rockers and jack points solid.

Replaced small area of panel in trunk area. (10” X 10”) opposite battery station, and one inch strip on battery side, floor panel only. Fingernail sized rust hole at passenger door well as shown in picture. Any dinged areas on fiberglass body were correctly repaired.

Installed cleaned radiator
Installed new heater/radiator hose
Cleaned gas tank, new filler hose, lined interior and installed new gas gauge sender unit from Jack Ashcraft. Gauge registers 1/4 full when empty.

So 'fess up, what's the real story? You had us going for a while there, wondering what the deal was with this Sonett. You did a nice job on it, now tell us how you did it.

Happy Saabing! :-)
