Hi Steve,

Don't lose your faith. As pointed out, the 86 9Ks suffered from teething
pains. My dad has a 86 and has had several of the problems you've
experienced. But, despite all that he just loves that car and can't bring
himself to part with it. For $2,300 you got a steal of a deal in my book.
And you need to remember that if you properly care for it, your engine will
easily last 300,000 miles or more. Dad has nearly 200,000 on his drivetrain
with no problems with turbo, engine or tranny. The little stuff is
frustrating, but Saabs are overall very stout cars. Good luck.

Regards,
Dan Kaempff
