Agree the light comes on as a function of rpm and throttle. I was trying to keep the description simple for somebody who apparently did not know about the light, I know the theory about rapid acceleration and use it. My problem with the shift up light is that often (when at minimum throttle opening) it puts me into 5th at low rpm and the engine is near laboring to increase speed. More throttle (more gas) gets me out of it. Just to me, I feel the shift up point is too low.
