I've got a 1993 900 turbo convertible that I drive every day. I paid $1300 for it and fixed the few things it needed myself. I am not a mechanic by trade. Easy to work on, easy to get parts for. My 22-year-old son is on his second 900 turbo. It's a 1989 convertible that he drives every day. Bought it cheap and he and I buttoned it up so he could take it to college. The body is rust-free, so we just had to take care of the mechanicals. You have the benefit of having a father who knows these cars. I enjoy working on them with my son. Hopefully you have the same situation. My other son (20) has a 1999 9-3. That car is a freaking money pit. We've dumped a lot of money into it and other things keep on breaking. I see no reason why a classic 900 couldn't be a reliable car. I'm living it.
