At 236,600 miles I am seeing a little oil in the coolant. The head has been seeping a bit at the LF corner (the usual spot when facing the car) since I got the car in 2003 at 90K miles, so the time has finally come.
I don't have the cash to pay for this, not on a repair that could about equal to the value of the car, so it's buy the parts, do the work, pay for the machine shop work, and hope it all works.
So I'm looking for any tips, tricks, etc., that can be thrown my way. I've pulled a procedure from the FAQ section, and although a little intimidating, I think this is within my skill range. Should I be thinking about replacing valves or valve guides, cam followers or anything else? Is there something else I should do while the head is out? The car works fine, otherwise.
Any advice is welcome! So is help if you've done this, are willing, and live in NH.
