they were taken off '92 engines. They're Bosch part no. is
0 280 142 001. They're shaped like the present 'hooter'
except there's an electrical connector (2-wire) above
the small orifice where the 1/4" rubber vacuum line connects.
I checked the hoses and clamps on the present bypass valve -
they all seem fine. As for the bypass valve itself, it seems to
be working, you can definitely hear it dumping when you let
of the gas. I tried sucking on the small orifice and didn't find
any leakage. It's possible, I guess, that it might be bad, but
I'll be getting that Bailey soon, anyway. For now, I'll just mount
it where the present Bosch is. I don't have any clamps on
the hoses, where they go into the BPC, however. Do you think
it's leaking from them? There's clamps at the compressor,
wastegate, etc, but not where I've fitted them on the BPC. I'd
been changing out BPC's so frequently, I just decided it was
a waste of time to put the clamp on - they seemed pretty secure
without those flimsy little things. Finally, let me know if you've
received some pictures of Saabrina. I sent them to both you
and Karl, just a few minutes ago. That's the new JT downpipe
in the engine picture, hope you can see it!
