Re: Viggen love - Saabnet.com Bulletin Board
Probably an unpopular answer, but my answer is "not that far." I've owned dozens and dozens of c900s, many of which were SPGs, and I frankly think they're better cars, vis a vis their contemporaries.
My first experience was a dealer test drive in a grey convertible in 1999 or 2000 (Burlingame Saab, in fact) and while fast, I walked away unimpressed. Fast forward 17 years, and a virtually identical car - albeit a 2002 - fell into my lap. I enjoy it just fine, but my impression of them hasn't changed. It's a cool engine hamstrung by a terrible chassis.
I'm not saying the Viggen is actually bad - I own one and a I like driving it, but I just don't find it special enough to work hard at keeping.
