5 years is a short time, if they want to survive they have to continue with the new products already in the pipeline and lay a foundation for a truly new Saab in 5-10 years. I don't know if they can come up with a completely new product in the next 5 years and have it to market within that time, it would cost a lot of money to do so. Really the best situation is for the investors to trust the management in Saab to run the company as a mass production car company with as little interference as possible, it will either survive or it won't. Hopefully they trust the management in place or it could be chaos and a disaster.
Besides that situation, what about the dealer network and global distribution? Hard decisions will have to be made whether to stay in foreign markets or pull out. There may or may not be a Saab US in 5 years if the dealer network falls apart and the sales aren't there, and you have to work through the transition of GM Saab to K-Saab. Parts and service at the official dealer level will still need to be available for the GM era Saabs all over the world for a long time.
Equally difficult and most important is that they have to make a campaign to reassure customers and potential buyers that they are still alive, viable and to not be afraid to buy a car from them.
