Part of Magna's business plan is to sell Opel platforms to other manufacturers. GM still has a minority interest in Opel and can be expected to share technology to enable Opel to do that. GM still has a piece of the action at Saab in the form of debt. I would be shocked if Saab did not end up being one of Opel's biggest customers. Ironically, the new 9-4 and 9-5 probably are deadends. What Saab really needs is a new small energy efficient 9-2 sedan to steal 50,000 Corolla, Civic and Jetta customers a year and a new 9-3 sedan to steal 50,000 Camry, Accord and Passat customers a year. It could be done.
