Tesla or other electrics use mass produced energy that is cheaper and less wasteful of resources. Generators are programmed to produce maximum energy at maximum torque and RPM ranges. Also, some energy comes from solar/wind/nuclear (I hate nuclear but that is another topic).
Car engines each are forced to generate small amounts of power with parasitic losses of power from redundant bearings and valves. Each car has it's own separate parasitic losses creating redundant wasteful CO2. Redundant losses are markedly lessened by use of larger electric power plants that become in essence "shared motors". That divides parasitic losses, minimizing them. Most electric comes from natural gas and coal, which burn more cleanly, and off gassed fumes are scrubbed for sulfur and CO, and much more efficiently than you car.
You need to do the math. I save between $7,500 and 10,000/year (even without the government's $7,500 tax credit), so by the end of my ownership I have enough in savings to buy the next electric vehicle. Contrast that against your car, where you need to spend more and more on gasoline. And remember gasoline has the added side effect of funding terrorism, actually raising your taxes by needing to have a larger military. A strong USA requires more self sufficiency and less vulnerability to supply/demand.
I think you might want to re-examine your logic and mathematics.
Best,
T
