Forester doesn't haul any more than a c900 even though it is taller, some things fit better in the c900. If you stack it to the ceiling, you can't see out the back, and you need a grid to protect passengers from falling stuff. Height is useful for a washing machine or something though.

Anyway, PriusV is 4615mm long vs tesla 4970mm - the Tesla is about a foot longer on the outside (9000=4761mm).

Cargo volume of the priusV is larger (943L), but the tesla's 775L with the seats up is more than a 9000's 665L and seats down, tesla gets 1645L vs 1597L...

Imho, comparison of hauling with the 9000 is more applicable since, ignoring the drive train, the 2 cars are more similar in price, shape, market, etc. The PriusV's wagon shape certainly increases it's volume, but I bet the tesla has more legroom* and more trunk area, and in many cases, that matters more (eg if you don't want to pack the thing to the roof).

*prius v legroom = 1043/911mm (front/back)
tesla s legroom = 1083/899mm
9000 legroom = 1180/1042mm

There is an overall height difference also of 1575mm priusv vs 1445mm tesla vs 1420mm 9000...

I wouldn't say they are totally apples and oranges, but there is a difference in shape and intended market, imho.
