Probably, but if so I don't think comparing what I assume is a fairly large SUV against a Tesla sedan is a fair savings assessment based on the types of vehicles. On top of that, even a new full-size 4-wheel-drive Cadillac Escalade or Lincoln Navigator driven 18K-22K/year is only going to cost maybe $3,000 to $3,500/year more on average in fuel vs. a Model S. If one wants a large SUV, the Model S isn't a practical choice but if a large SUV is no longer wanted compare against other similar sedans.
In today's market the Model S probably compares on the premium end most closely size-wise to the Audi A7.
