I'm going to be moving house next month and am planning on renting a U-Haul truck for this. For a little background I'm moving 293 miles, mostly on I-75 (Toledo, OH to Traverse City, MI). I already have the house in MI and have been gradually been moving furniture and belongings every time I go up there for a visit, so I'm hoping the main moving event will be less painful than it otherwise would be.
I am thinking I probably need the 20' truck but am considering renting the 26' just to make sure I can get everything in - I'll do some measuring up over the next few days to get a better idea.
Anyway, just looking for helpful hints for anybody that has done this. How are the trucks to drive? How hard is the loading and packing process? Anything that you wish you had done differently?
