a minivan. What with three car seats and all the stuff that goes along with kids that age. I know the stigma, but truth is they are amazingly wonderful for someone in your situation. My wife and I rented one when we had our four grandchildren with us for a long weekend and we couldn't believe how handy it was. We really liked it a lot and I kept thinking all weekend that I could own one of these--and our children are grown adults. In the early years they were a pretty crappy ride (which is how everyone tends to view them), but newer, premium ones are amazingly nice. My son has a Honda Odyssey and routinely gets 30 mpg plus loaded to the gills (Toyota is also good). I can already hear the gears churning in your head generating a long a list of why one wouldn't work for you. But I guarantee you that if you opened your mind just a tinny crack and actually took a serious look at one you wouldn't buy anything else. Rent one for a weekend or take an extended drive in one with the whole crew--it'll make your life so easy breezy when it comes to loading and hauling you'll love it. I know you won't but I tried.
