The squeaking noise is another unfortunate side effect of a new timing belt.
Some belts are not cut perfectly straight from the rubber mat and that results in a slightly wandering belt from left to right. The sidewalls of the pulleys stops the belt from going any further but the squeak is produced when the belt hit the sidewall.
That is another reason why I start up the engine with the timing cover removed when work is done. If the belt is moving too much, I have to use another.
Every blue moon or less it happens that the belt is too far out of line.
