My timing belt was done at 61,000 miles by the SAAB Dealer (CPO) and by a mechanic with 25 years of SAAB experience. I too have a noisier engine since the work but mine seems like it's coming from the valve train? A new symptom after the belt/pulley/tensioner is "spark knock" when I start the car (cold or hot) - I guess that's what one calls it? Anyway, like loud pre-ignition noice just when it fires up. Mileage is down too by about 1 MPG. The Dealer wants $300-400 dollars to "recheck" their work but if the belt fails and crashes the valves, it will be covered by the CPO - so they say. CPO out in August so I might have them check it out or get brave and pull the timing cover myself and visually check. Not sure how Saturn V6's are going 105,000 on their belt since it's basically the same engine? Mine at 60K miles has a roller that was dry and noisy.
