is that they are likely to become content with remaining a janitor, which -- apart from inflating costs -- isn't in their best interest. At some point, the house of cards will collapse. But managers who agree to pay any class of employees much beyond market levels aren't doing their jobs and should be canned. GM put money into Saab, thanks very much, but that top tier was doing a lousy job of managing. The Escalade would be my Exhibit A. Shoot, if your managers believe the best use of resources is building that grotesque piece of crap, money doesn't mean anything, so why not pay your janitors $100K? And now, back to the Saab 9-5 ...
