04 Aero - Prem vs Regular observation

Hi All from Cowtown, Alberta,
I bought my 6th SAAB finally, an 04 Aero 5sp, off-lease from London, Ontario. Drove it back home, adding 4000 km (2500 miles for you, southern folks ;) to the original 67 000.
Nothing wrong so far, except for a pair of 2 rear shocks (fixed).
Most (and frankly the only) annoying things - the rain sensor (confirmed to work OK!), the vilest and most unnecessary device I ever encountered in a car. And the 'key in ignition - door open' chime. both suckers will be shut down with TECH-2 at the earliest opportunity. Sorry, I digressed .
I started feeding the Aero with regular fuel and it is so much smoother-sounding, -idling, on/off throttle lurch is gone too.
Do not know yet how fuel consumption will be affected (still on 1st tankful with regular), but I failed to observe any noticeable loss of acceleration when driving at altitudes between 3200 ft/1000m (in town) to 7200 ft/2200m (up in the mountains).
