I did the switch in March and as much as I loved my '97 CSE with 117K miles, my '05 Arc w/40K is just awesome to drive. Definately less "feel" than the 9K but the performance is a HUGE improvement over the 9K. The 9-5 has a much flatter torque curve and they program the A/T to use it so it does not have that "wham" in your seat full boost like the 9K does followed by the 9K tappered off acceration. Instead it is flat but faster; you really have to watch the speedo when openning up in "Sport" mode...very deceiving. I like the Jekyll and Hyde of the 9-5 with "Sport". On the highway, the 9K doesn't even compare in power and comfort of the 9-5; I hit the 130mph (speed limted H-rated tires) sooooo much faster than the 9K could. I just put a set of 17" 10-spoke Aero wheels on last weeekand and now the car looks awesome without the Aero issue with harsh ride. In my opnion, the 04-05 Arc really is the best 9-5 yet. I drove a '09 9-5 Sport loaner car a few weeks and there was nothing I like better over my Arc, especially the $40k+ prices tag instead of my $11K with 39K miles 2005 Arc price a couple months ago.
