Since our last 9000 (we had 3), we've had 3 9-5's all wagons. The first two were lease cars, but I finally got tired of the cost and the automatic on the last one, and found an '04 Arc wagon back East as a CPO car for what I regarded as a dirt cheap price and a new car warranty. It's been a great car for the past two years, and the 9-5 is the best SAAB we've ever owned (and I go back to a pair of two-strokes, a 1966 typ96 and a 1967 typ95). The 9000 was a wonderful, roomy car, the biggest car SAAB ever built or (no doubt) ever will, and probably one of the best cruisers ever made. But the body had too much flex, with a tendency to bury a front corner in any hard turn. The real problem was that they were woefully underpowered. In retrospect (our last one, a '94 CSE, was non-turbo), it's amazing that they would do as well as they did at 150 hp.
Find a 9-5 you like, you won't regret the purchase.
