It sounds like you are insured with USAA from your hint in the first post.

If this is your insurance company, then you have the best auto insurance available BAR NONE. I have been with USAA for 43 years. They are terrific.

I could bore you with tales of how great they are, but will do so only on request.......

My daughter was T boned at a light by a women who ran the light at 40mph and totalled my beloved 1979 900 3 door turbo. They totaled the car and gave me extra for the restoration work that had been done. the car was really really totaled and the settlment was very generous.

I currently have 6 cars insured with them and my house. Our last house was destroyed in the Northridge earthquake 16 years ago. They covered everything. I have never met anyone who had better service and care from this disaster. USAA is tops.

their theft service is awesome.....I could go on and on.

If the other drive is at fault, USAA will go after their insurance company on your behalf. I have had them pay me, and when they are paid by the other company, they will then refund your deductable to you.

they use independent appraisers. I would not let them tow it anywhere. Let them figure it out at your place or wherever it is.

I am not a USAA employee, just a very happy customer of many years.

They are just the best. Ask other insurance companies or agents, and if they are honest they just tell you they are the best.

Your circumstances are not clear to me, but they are the last company anyone should accuse of scam.
