These are pretty sturdy cars and there's nothing wrong with using one to tow, as long as you watch the weight. They are designed with towing capability. Read the owner's manual.
Besides, he's talking about occasional use with a utility trailer. I do that with my wife's 9-5 and my 9K. No adverse effects over past 10 years.
