but for the harness and help, not for a rental.
I made plenty of short trips using a small utility trailer with my 2002 Aero SW. That had the factory plug, and I bought SAAB harness. Life was good back then.
When I bought the 2007, I had to cut-in my own. I swear I properly identified the appropriate wires for the function I wanted, but boy there's a lot of wires back there (different L & R for same function). I only used it once, with a borrowed motorcycle trailer for a trip out east, and it sort of worked. Had a few wierd things going on. His trailer had some rusted bulb sockets, I cleaned those up and gave it back to him without ever confirming if it was just grounding issues with his trailer or if I needed to change some of my wires.
If starting now (and I may restart), I'd go to U-Haul, buy a universal, POWERED trailer adapter, and ask them to either install, or for wiring help. I bought a few pieces of my trailer package from them, and my local branch seemed very willing (on the phone) to have me come in and give me some wiring instructions, even though I didn't buy a full wiring package from them. I didn't take them up on it as I haven't pulled a trailer since.
