Yes, I broke 1 of the studs... I think my wording was not very good the first time around - I wasn't sure at first if the studs were welded but it seems they are. Did you find a solution to fix the broken stud or just leave it broken? As these cars age in the salt belt, those studs are going to be a mess!
What was the epoxy based rust protection you used? We spray annually with rust check but if there is a long lasting epoxy based product that works well, that would be interesting!
re the rubbing, on your car, at 2 years old, were you able to see damage due to rubbing before rust set in? The rust bubble does seem to start at the bottom, but all the paint underneath peeled off also and there is rust on the inside surfaces also, so it was hard to tell where this originated... I suspect the dirt accumulation is the worst factor. not sure how to rectify that. Does anyone know where the sunroof drains out the back?
