or just a lot of little things that added up?
I've done a bunch of stuff on my car (shocks, tstat etc, dogleg rust, plugs, fluids), and my indy some more (water pump/serp/coolant bypass, hooter, tires) but it hasn't been too costly. Parts do cost more than for the c900's which now are dirt cheap to run since they see fewer miles. I do almost all the service on those now. I suppose my cost is only about half (or less) "customer cost" and the rest is my time. I generally enjoy the work, and in many cases, doesn't take much more time (I can do an oil or ATF change in my driveway as quickly and easily as I can drive the car across town to get it done). Anything urgent, especially in winter, goes to my SAAB indy.
The maintenance habits of the PO for sure make a difference! I think I did ok in that respect. Good luck with yours! Not too many 960's left on the road here (winter = salt = rust). Rust is the worst. There are times I wished I lived in sunny California!
