Interesting thought. My car has 125K and i'm planning a Xcountry summer trip. The pump on my first 1999 quit without warning at about 120K. Same thing happened to my wife's Buick with the Walbro insert. My 1991 C900T with 120K is new to me but when I looked in the trunk I could see a non original pump. My 1992 C900na with 105K came to me with a recently replaced pump. I don't have a lot of faith in the longevity of the Walbro insert. Now if your car has a Bosch insert it might be different. My hand is about to reach for my nibbler. Enlarging the hole under the back seat seems like a worthy project before i leave town.
