Hello,
There is no need to disassemble the shifter to replace the ignition switch. Here is all I do.
1. Remove the center console.
2. Leave shifter in neutral and disconnect battery.
3. Remove 4 bolts holding shifter to floor and rotate so you can get to the bottom of it.
4. Being an auto you should be able to unplug from the switch then remove the 2 20 torx screws and remove the electrical portion of the ignition switch.
5. Reverse procedure to reinstall.
Note: Sometimes you have to move the seats around some so that you can rotate the shifter assemble enough to access the bottem.
