We drove the car four hours today. It ran well (30 mpg at 70+ mph). On uphill stretches on the highway at 70+ the boost gauge would surge just a tiny amount and then drop. The car felt like it would lose power for a half second or so and then speed back up (surge). I thought it was the cruise control but it does it at constant throttle with the cruise off too. No lights and no codes. The surge is so quick the speedo never moves but you can feel it. Once off the highway at slightly slower speeds, the symptom vanishes. It's done this on long trips before. Not sure what might cause this. On the way back on the same road there was no such surging and the car ran great. The surging only occurs when the boost needle is at the very lower edge of the yellow zone.

The ignition switch change definitely fixed the dark dash and odd codes - it's back to normal. Next up - Fuel Pump replacement and filter (preventative at 155k)
