You could rent a U-haul truck with a car or other trailer but at least here in southern Ontario, it's an expensive proposition with the initial mileage you have. That leaves you with perhaps local driving for the rest of your "vehicle restoration journey". I still can't believe that someone I know towed a huge 26 foot cabin cruiser behind an old 'beaver wagon". Granted, that old beast had a frame on body design, I think. It was a dual axle steel trailer and the weighty old fibreglass boat would have towered above him as he winded his way to his destination along 80 kph speed roads and about 150 km of asphalt. No way I would have tried that but he made it without incident. Note that he is the type who had to buy a running junker to drive from Mexico to Panama after car rental agencies there thought he was crazy and would not make it. Fortunately, he was lucky enough to live through a cartel checkpoint in southern Mexico on the same trip. They probably let him go since he has a unique way of assessing risk. Not his fault since he comes from a family of Scottish mercenaries who hired themselves out to an Eastern European king.
