I should have described it as a "powered" harness, not "switched".
IF you don't want to run a power wire all the way to the fuse box, and you only use a trailer infrequently, you might "cheat" as I did.
I found a permanent ground connection in the back, but for the positive cable, I took a cigarette lighter plug and using only the positive, I plug into the outlet in the rear center console. I keep the entire cable and plug under the rear seat.
