yes he did replace both, and he ended up replacing it a second time, shortly after, saying some of the seals were unreliable.. I'm wondering if the crankshaft sleeve is a bit worn, causing issues?
if I do remove the pulley to inspect it.. will it be visually obvious if there's a leak ... or can things look dry ... with the leak working its way from behind the pulley. down to the pan?
If i'm going to go through the trouble, it may just make sense to replace the seal and oring while I'm there... and maybe try one of those redi-sleeves?
regarding the head gasket leak... I'll look again.. but it looked like the area above the crankshaft pulley, and around the upper idler pulley is bone dry.... so I'm guessing it's either that seal/oil ring from the crankshaft or maybe the pan itself near that one bolt....
