thanks for the quick response.... I appreciate the time you always take to respond to folks on this forum... Honestly, I most likely would have moved on to a new car 5 or 6 years ago.. if it wasn't for the you and the others on this forum ..
I took another look at that area near the tensioner bolt.. there's some older black sludge, but nothing that looks fresh/recent.. and the timing cover below that area shows no sign of fresh oil ( I changed it last week). The oil showing up at the bottom pan bolt is golden brown..
I'll drive it a bit more, now that I've tightened the pan bolts up a bit .. to see if things improve.. otherwise I'll most likely remove the pulley and take a look...
