I have two 9-5s, a 2000 and a 2001, and I have no issues with parts availability. Everything mechanical is either available on the aftermarket or from Saab. I rebuilt the engine in one of them a couple of years ago, and everything I needed was for sale somewhere. The only painful part was the piston rings, which are Saab-only parts, and fairly expensive for what they are. Interior trim bits are one thing that are hard to come by new. I have a search set up on row52 so I'm alerted if any Saabs show up at nearby Pick-n-Pulls. The biggest headache I've had with the 9-5s are the climate control parts. Both had broken parts in the blend doors, both had broken recirculate motors, and one just had the air distribution motor crap out. I've fixed them all, but it's still a PITA when something breaks.
