.. make sure there really is a problem...
1) the front doors are midrange/bass... so they'll sound somewhat muted (i.e. not crisp, no highend treble, etc. ).. with the high end coming from the dash speakers
2) the rear deck speakers are free air subwoofers.. so they'll sound muddied, and close to inaudible .. depending on the content being played..
Assuming you're aware of that, and still think there is a problem.. Then I would agree that the speakers are likely not at fault.. However, you can try swapping the speakers between the front and rear doors.. to see if there's a difference.. The rear doors are fed midrange/treble from the amp.. as opposed to the front doors, which are fed bass/midrange.. but it should give you an idea if there are issues w/the speakers by swapping them..
More likely its an issue with the amp itself, the head unit, or the connection harness feeding the amp, or leaving the amp. . So maybe track down the amp location.. and try wiggling the harnesses a bit.. to see if the sound improves..
good luck
Mike
