So blowing hot air. Compressor clutch was engaging. Firestone Service had an AC Check deal for $10 so took it in. They said refrigerant was low but ok but Cooling Fans did not come on and they were going to charge for diagnostics and then...I said to just evacuate the system (anticipating having to open and replace something.
Came home and checked connectors, fuses and relays. Using Tech2 and fumbling my way into body systems I found Cooling fans were programmed to "Manual" not "Automatic". I activated them and the fans worked fine. I reprogrammed to the "Automatic" setting and the fans operate as they should I think. Is this correct? The fans should be programmed to 'Auto' to allow for DICE to command?
I noticed now the compressor clutch is not engaging. I recon the refrigerant is too low to trip the pressure switches. does this sound right?
ps: I've seen it before but now I can't find compressor pressure values in my Tech2. I forgot what menu they come on.
Thanx for any sage advice from you who have much more knowledge of such things and experience using Tech2.
