Well, like the song goes..'What a Long Strange Trip it's Been'..After HOURS of tracing every wire and grnd and finding no prob I found a shop that just happened to have a guy that knows and likes SAABS! Tho the compressor was engaging, the internal valves were not. Back to my 'shop' under the car port, and with a vast assortment of wobbly extensions and swivel sockets, I switched out the drier, expansion valve and compressor. (Man, working on these would be soooo much easier if there wasn't a body and dashboard wrapped around 'em:). Found the condenser presr sensor was bad too, (to check: use an ohmmeter and 2 of the pins should be "0", with resistance across all pins= bad sensor). Drove it back to the other shop and they charged it and viola! Cold air...mostly. Driver's side dash vent was cool, not cold...ohhh the *%$#@ Blend Door. 2 days, seats out, Gumby distortions and more wiggly wobbly tools along w/ a flex bit extension, smartphone bore-scope and a lot of unseemly language, I found the rotary drum was sticking so lubed everything with silicone grease and it's all good...for now. I had replaced the stepping motor arm previously and the other parts were ok. I also finally isolated the ACC motor noise that annoyingly runs after shut down was my Re-Circ flap motor. Try as I did for WAY too long, I couldn't remove that deep recessed screw, it had a nut head on it had been torqued to being so recessed I could'nt get a bite on it, Anyone encounter this before and have any helpful tips? I'm thinking the motor has some broken teeth on the internal gears, it goes back and forth every 10 seconds for about 5 min after the engine shuts down before it stops. kinda like this here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PVL0suAq3BQ
Anyway, AC is good here in the NW heat waves and with the seats out it was a good time to clean the carpets, upholstery and change the Jalousie!
Happy Motoring!
