So this morning I went out and the radio was playing softly. Volume didn’t work. Balance didn’t work Fader base treble didn’t work.. I pulled it out looked as fast as I could at the connections. They all seemed fine on the back of the radio as well as in the radio cage. I made sure that the antenna was clipped back in place though it never came out of its slot. There is a clip that holds the wire in place and I made sure that the wire was back where it was. I pushed the radio back in nothing. Pulled it out pushed it back in nothing. So I have a used radio coming to me later this week and it is my hope that I will just be able to slide that in to place as it will be married to my car. The guy who sold it to me is a Saab expert and he got my Vin and married it before he sent it. Here’s hoping that solves the problem for both the radio reception and functionality. If not then my quest to keep my 9-5 in original condition will have come to an end. I will have to take it to a stereo person to get an updated system put in I guess. I’m not sure I’ll do that car is so old. I’m not sure how much more money I want to put into a sound system. I have owned it since it was new. I do have an emotional attachment to it, but I really loved that it was original. Kind of sad that maybe I will not be able to keep it in that state.
