help it. I am the most opinionated, prejudiced, closed minded, got my mind made up kind of person on this board. Now you know how I am, you should also know how I got that way! I drive a Saab or two or three! Have driven them for the last, going on 24 years. My total Saab mileage is approaching 765,000 miles( + a few thousand Kilometers). My wife who has been a Saab hater for 22 of those 24 years. has leveled all sorts of abuse on my head because of Saab, causing me to rebell and develop a hard shell. Some of the abuses - "What do you mean a new Saab- they all look the same anyway", What in the world made you buy that funny looking car", "you would think they would have made the engine so you could at least get to the fan belts" those are the printable ones. She has always insisted we take our driving vacations in "her car" because mine has that old stick thing. Well two years ago that all changed, We took a mountain vacation through Colorado and New Mexico. I really put my foot down this time and asked if we could take the Aero instead of her Cadillac. (Im used the excuse that the turbo was necessary because of the mountains and her car only had 300 horsepower and no turbo- she bought it! 5000 miles later and back home she agreed to try a Saab for awhile, with Automatic. Two years now not a word about those funny looking cars, the Cadillac is history and We just bought her a 01 Estate She loves it! now abusing me for not making her buy a Saab sooner. Just can't win!
All the cars you are reviewing have their merits the one thing I didn't see you mention was excitement! If you are young enough to truly enjoy an exciting car you would be wise to opt for the Aero. It isn't a run of the mill cars, it is a little dorqy, quirky and all those things people will say about it but none of then will challenge you to a more pleasing automobile.
And if you are wondering about reliability how about this. I had a 1987 SPG(900T) that I gave to my son when he went to college( 175,000)- he graduated, then my daughter got it, she graduated, son got married his wife got it, then she became pregnant and I got it back then daughter came back home, she got it, then baby was born daughter in law got it back, then three years later daughter in law was pregnant again and the van dealer got it! 325,000 miles $1765.00 ( you wonder how I know-everytime something broke -I got it!) total repairs for parts not counting general maintenance. That works out to be figures out to .0543 cents per mile. I think you must agree that is pretty darn cheap transportation! If you decide on the Saab be prepared for a lot of abuse-just smile back, in the rear view mirror!
