The really high performance tires (like the Primacy) stop being good in cold weather (like much below 40) but in warmer weather are excellent on wet and really grip well on dry. You can pick up a set of 4 snows mounted and balanced on alloy 16" wheels for about $850 - I keep them in NYC, where there isn't much snow, from late november or early december to (this year) three weeks ago. They handle well, having them mounted and balanced saves you the cost of doing that, and while you have them on, you put mileage on them that you'd put on the regular tires. If you decide that won't do, don't choose a $36000 car for the tires - make the dealer change them on an Aero for less expensive 16" wheels and tires - it's a good deal for them, as the 17" wheelsw break, and they sell them all the time, for $250 each.
SAABUSA has lots of automatics it wants to move. Northern NJ sounds like JMK (where I bought, Spreens (which has a good rep)or Ramsey, which priced my car higher than JMK. JMK said they found my car in Virginia, then it miraculously turned up at Port Newark. Buy it where you find it (even call International Motors in Falls Church, VA - they move a lot of cars), and then have it serviced locally. At International Motors, where I happened to be, they practically pushed me into an Aero for a test drive, and they, JMK, Ramsey, all quoted real prices on the telephone.
