Wow, some really good food for thought here. The dealer where I saw the 01 V6s also has a 4 for the same money with similar mileage. I'll go and drive it for sure (all automatics). so I understand that the 4 has a timing chain and not the belt like the V6. The V6's belt is replaced under warranty at 60k? How much does the tentioner cost to replace (guestimate?)? Do both engines need premium gas? I'm certainly going to have my mechanic look over any used Saab I consider. Sorry about all the obvious questions, but I'm trying to be sure of what I'm getting myself in for....the other car I'm considering is a new Honda CRV (I know, different)...I like the Saab much better, but the Hondas have done well for me in the past. Thanks again.
